1. Mineral surface geochemistry: thermodynamics and kinetics of mineral crystallization and dissolution; biomineralization and mineral-organic interfacial complexation; microbe-mineral interactions and related geomicrobiological effect
2. Biogeochemistry: coupled Si-C cycle in coastal wetland ecosystem and related carbon sequestration and storage; regional and global response to coupled C-Fe cycle in soil CZO; Microbe-mineral coevolution during pedogenesis
3. Environmental geochemistry of soils: low-T and microbe-mediated clay mineralogy; soil heavy metal fixation and liberatation associated with mineral-water interactions; nutrient and metal migration in rhizosphere and vegetation zones
