In January 2023, SESS was recogized as "Tianjin Municipal Science Popularization Base" (in the category of science education) for its contributions in helping interpret earth system science to the public.
In recent years, SESS has made efforts in communicating earth system science to society by setting up popularizing programmes, such as science festival, lab visits, rock shows, summer camps, popular science lectures and so on. The school hopes to share their faculty and students' passion for science and pass valuable information to larger audiences in order for them to discover the fascinating world of earth science and foster scientifc thinking and acting.
