Prof. Peter A. Raymond from Yale University brought an academic talk on the theme of "Greenhouse Gas Evasion from Global Streams and Rivers" on 23rd Apr. 2021. The talk focused on CO2 evasion from water body, especially from streams and rivers, presented the magnitude and distribution of CO2 evasion, and showed the challenges of this work. After the meeting, participants discussed with Prof. Raymond on the influencing factors, temporal and spatial variations, mechanism characteristics, model experiments and other issues of greenhouse gas evasion.
Prof. Raymond is currently Editor and Chief of the American Geophysical Union's journal Global Biogeochemical Cycles. He received his BS from Marist College and his PhD from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (College of William and Mary). He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a member of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering, and a ISI highly cited author. He received the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federations Cronin Award for Young Scientists.
