On 24 April, over 800 students from 40 high schools in Tianjin came to TJU for the prelimary contest of the 2nd Chinese Earth Science Olympiad (Tianjin Division). This is the first time for Tianjin to host this contest as a Division.
The competition for each participant consists of theoretical and practical examinations as well as field work test. All the main areas of earth sciences, including geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, astronomy, and environmental sciences, are considered as selecting topics for the competition.
