On the afternoon of 4th January 2019, Dr. Yuji Sano, Professor at the University of Tokyo and Fellow of American Geophysical Union (AGU), received an Honorary Professorship from Prof. Zhao Meirong, Vice President of Tianjin University (TJU). Academician LIU Congqiang, Dean of the Institute of Surface-Earth System Science (ISESS), attended the conferring ceremony and highlighted the pleasure for ISESS to have Dr. Yuji SANO on board.
After the ceremony, Dr. Yuji Sano and Dr. Daniele L. Pinti from the University of Quebec gave two academic lectures entitled "Past daily light cycle recorded in the Sr/Ca ratios of giant clam shells” and“Variability of deep carbon in modern geothermal systems ”.
