On 7th December, ISESS initiated 1-month discussions among its academic staff on the future of Surface-Earth system science. Prof. YUAN Yingjin, Vice President of Tianjin University, and Dr. CUI Zhenping, Executive Vice-Director of the Office of Science and Technology were invited to join the discussions.
Prof. LIU Congqiang, Academician of CAS and Dean of ISESS, made a report on strategic plan of the Institute. He briefed the vision, mission and pathway of the Institute's research development. He also summarized the current difficulties and challenges, and pointed out the short-term and long-term goals and measures to achieve the goals.
The discussions among all the academic staff would last for one month. It is expected that new measures will be taken in 2019 to facilitate the fast development of geoscience at TJU.
