On 11th September, Institute of Surface-Earth System Science (ISESS) of Tianjin University launched its geology field station in Zigui, Hubei Province, in cooperation with China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) . Professor LIU Congqiang, Dean of the Institute and Professor LAI Xulong, Vice President of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) gave speeches on the launching ceremony, expressing wishes for more cooperation in terms of joint research and student development.
During the two weeks in Zigui, 16 geology master students from ISESS measured and described stratigraphic sections to gain familiarity with metamorphic rock, weathering crust etc..
