On the morning of 10th September, the Institute held the opening ceremony of academic year 2018-2019, which welcomed the 50 newly enrolled postgraduate students. Ms. Yanping XU, the Associate Dean recognized the people who had contributed to the development of ISESS. Dr. Jing SU, Professor Hui Henry TENG and Ms. Shu HUANG gave speeches, expressing their wishes to help fulfill the founding mission and aspirations of the institute.
After the ceremony, Professor Robert M. Ellam, the Honorary Professor of TJU and the Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, gave the opening lecture on "Introduction to the Earth Sciences".
