On 1st June, Dr. Yakov Kuzyakov , professor of University of Gottingen, gave an academic lecture on “Competition between roots and microorganisms for N: Mechanisms & ecological relevance”.
Professor Yakov Kuzyakov was awarded as foreign experts of the CAS, high-end foreign experts, also a famous soil ecologist who have been qualified as the highest-level professor in Germany. With more than 20 years-experience in the application of radioisotope and stable isotope technology to soil carbon and nitrogen cycling, he has been devoted to the transformation and migration of carbon and nitrogen in soil-plant and soil-atmosphere, especially in the initiation effect and the carbon rhizosphere process of the root soil interface. He has hosted over 30 scientific research projects (including 15 German science foundation projects) and published more than 160 SCI papers. The total reference number of the papers is over 4100 times, and the H index is 30. He is also the editor in chief of the European Journal of Soil Biology; editorial editor of Plant and Soil; Editorial Board of Global Change Biology and Soil Biology and Biochemistry.
