On 6th May, Prof. LI Siliang received the 17th Hou Defeng Award for Young Scientists in Mineralogy Petrology and Geochemistry. The award is set up in honor of late Prof. Hou Defeng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, for his notable contribution to the development of geology and geochemistry in China. It also aims to encourage outstanding young geoscientists with distinguished and creative achievements in the fields of mineralogy, petrology, and geochemistry.
Dr. Li Siliang, Professor and Associate Dean of Institute of Surface-Earth System Science, is a winner of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars. He is mainly engaged in the study on geochemical process of basin biology and isotope geochemistry, the analysis of the origin and evolution of basin substances by applying isotope source method and chemicals equilibrium as well as its significance to regional and global material cycles. Up to now, Prof. Li has published more than 80 scientific papers, which have been cited for over 1200 times.
