‘The deposition distribution and main sources of nitrogen and sulfur pollutants at regional scales’ sub-project launched

2017-09-14

On 7th September, the sub-project 'The deposition distribution and main sources of nitrogen and sulfur pollutants at regional scales' was launched, as part of  the National Key Projects of Research and Development Plan on the cause & control of air pollution ('The key processes influencing regional emission-deposition responses , 2017YFC0210100) . Prof. LIU Xueyan from the Institute of Surface-Earth System Science, Tianjin University is the principal investigator.

Source-receptor relationships are one of key scientific bases for understanding substance cycles in surface-earth systems, which is also important for controlling regional air pollution and protecting ecological environments. The goal of this project is to investigate the deposition distribution and main sources of nitrogen and sulfur pollutants in eastern China, to provide data and scientific evidences for modeling source-receptor relationship and evaluating potential ecological risks.

The participating institutions include China Agricultural University, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology and Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Science.
