The Goldschmidt Conference is organized by geochemists, for geochemists, since 1988. The conference is named in honor of Victor M. Goldschmidt (1888-1947), whose pioneering work to explore and define the composition of the Earth laid the basis of modern geochemistry. The 27th Goldschmidt Conference was held in Paris at the Palais des Congrès de Paris during 13-18 August 2017 (http://goldscmidt.info/2017/). This conference has offered 200 sessions in 23 important themes of geochemistry and its neighboring fields, in addition to five plenary talks. More than 4000 geochemists from more than 50 countries were attended. The conference has focused not only to provide opportunities to hear exciting talks and visit innovative exhibitors but also social interactions to boost scientific networking.
Prof. Chandra Mouli Pavuluri gave a talk: Changes in atmospheric aerosol loading, composition and 13C isotope ratios of organic aerosols with biological activity in northeast Asia, under the theme 16: Climate and Atmosphere of the Anthropocene, in session 16e: Environmental Chemistry of Atmosphere-Earth Surface Interactions. His talk emphasized the importance of biological sources to organic aerosols in the northeast Asian atmosphere and their seasonal changes (abstract is available at: https://whiteiron.org/uploads/conferences/27/abstracts/finalPDFs/2017001552-20170322013212.pdf).
