Recently, Dr. ZHANG Ruochun from the ISESS was invited to take part in the 8th Asian Heads of Research Council Joint Symposium “Impact of Changing Regional Environment to Global Health”, which was held under the auspices of Department of Science and Technology of the Philippines. Dr. Zhang gave a report on “Climate change and drinking water deterioration potential” in the second part of the symposium, introducing the threats to human health from issues such as flood and eutrophication caused by extreme weather and the health problems that human beings faced in dealing with the impacts of climate change.
The theme of the seminar was “Climate Change and Human Health”. The Chinese delegation was led by Prof. LIU Congqiang, Academician of CAS and Vice President of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
