On the morning of 29th August, the Institute of Surface-Earth System Science (ISESS) of Tianjin University held the opening ceremony for the 2016 new comers. All the faculty of the ISESS and 31 graduates who joined the institute in 2016 attended the ceremony.
Ms. XIA Yanmeng, a master candidate enrolled in 2015, Mr. JIA Guodong, a PhD student in 2016, and Professor LI Xiaodong, made speeches respectively on behalf of their group, expressing their expectations for the future. And Prof.LANG Yunchao, Associate Dean of the ISESS, gave an overall introduction to the development of the Surface-Earth System Science and the Institute.
This ceremony was followed by a meeting between the supervisors and the new students. Research focuses and study plans were discussed on the meeting.
