Tianjin, August 19 — The School of Earth System Science (SESS) at Tianjin University officially opened the 14-day China-Malaysia Students Geosciences Exchange Program, welcoming a 32-member delegation of faculty and students from Universiti Malaya, led by Dr. Meor Hakif Bin Amir Hassan.
Organized under the national China Exchange Program for Young International Professionals (CEP), this initiative is initiated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and funded by the China International Talent Exchange Foundation. Rooted in the core mission of "mutual understanding, friendship, and shared growth", the CEP is designed to build a high-level international platform for young talents across countries.
SESS first hosted the CEP program track in 2025, delivering a well-received inaugural edition that earned formal recognition and high praise from Universiti Malaya and all partner stakeholders. Building on that successful foundation, the 2026 program integrates four carefully structured core modules: frontier academic lectures, hands-on laboratory experiments, geological field practice, and immersive Chinese cultural visits.
Through a collaborative joint research-and-learning model, the program is set to strengthen professional expertise, advance practical research capabilities, and expand global academic perspectives for all participating students and scholars from both China and Malaysia.
