In January 2025, SESS signed a cooperation agreement with Faculty of Science of the University of Tokyo. Under the terms of the agreement, the two sides will further enhance collaboration in faculty exchange, students' training, scientific research, etc..
Established in 1877, the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) is the oldest imperial university in Japan and is one of the most prestigious universities in Asia and is renowned worldwide for its strong academic programs, cutting-edge research, and distinguished faculties, among which the Faculty of Science is an esteemed institution for scientific education and research.
In September 2024, the Dean of SESS, Academician Liu Congqiang, led a delegation to visit Faculty of Science at UTokyo to further the collaboration ties. In the end of September 2024, 5 SESS students were invited to join in the field program offered by the Faculty of Science at UTokyo.
