On 15-21 September, Dean Congqiang LIU, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, headed a delegation attending the 71st Annual Meeting of The Geochemical Society of Japan (GSJ) and visited the University of Tokyo.
During the meeting of GSJ, the delegation delivered oral and poster presentations and participated in the China-Japan Bilateral Geochemical Forum, which laid the foundation for more extensive academic cooperation.
At the University of Tokyo, the Prof. OHKOSHI Shin-ichi, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, met with the delegation. The delegation also visited the Department of Geophysics and Geochemistry, and toured the geochemistry laboratory and the Faculty of Science Hall of Fame.
The Geochemical Society of Japan was established in 1953 and is the only academic organization in the field of geochemistry in Japan. Its affiliated journal, “Geochemical Journal” was first published in 1967 and holds considerable recognition in the global geochemical community.
The University of Tokyo was established in 1877 as the first national university in Japan. As a leading research university, UTokyo offers courses in essentially all academic disciplines at both undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research across the full spectrum of academic activity.
