On 13-14 September，Associate Dean Chen Jiubin headed a delegation visiting Universiti Malaya in Malaysia, to further the existent cooperation in faculty exchange and to explore new collaborations in terms of joint research, student exchange, joint field program, etc.
During the stay at the Faculty of Science, Dr. Ahmad Farid Bin Abu Bakar, Acting Head of the Geology Department, briefed the delegation the department. It is agreed that both parties shall take full advantage of the partnership and make more efforts in setting up more substantial collaborations. Prof. Chen invited them to attend the 10th Anniversary of SESS in 2025.
At the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IOES) , Dr. Wee Cheah, the Director of the Earth Observation and Climate Change Department of IOES, met the delegation, followed by productive discussions on school-level partnership.
Universiti Malaya, founded in 1905, is Malaysia's leading public research university. SESS signed a cooperation agreement with Faculty of Science of Universiti Malaya in January 2024.
