【Webinar】CO2 Evasion from Global Streams and Rivers

2021-04-21

Time: 09:00am, 23rd April (Friday), 2021

 Zoom ID:  648 4972 0037

Speaker: Dr. Peter A. Raymond, Yale University

Abstract:

Streams and rivers transport massive terrestrial carbon into oceans, leading to extensive carbon burials in coastal regions. Meanwhile, streams and rivers are reactors of carbon transformation, and emit substantial greenhouse gas into atmosphere. Therefore, streams and rivers are considered as an important contributor to atmospheric greenhouse gas, but the contributing extent is arguable. In this talk, Dr. Peter A. Raymond will talk about CO2 Evasion from Global Streams and Rivers. He will present the magnitude and distribution of CO2 evasion, and discusses the challenges of this work.
