Abstract:Boron isotopes are used in many applications in geochemistry: they are used to reconstruct the paleo-pH of the oceans, to trace the weathering intensity in rivers and soils, as well as water sources. The first part of the presentation will be about B isotope measurements by MC-ICP-MS with a direct injection nebulizer and the latest developments towards very small samples and B amounts. The second part will be an example of application of boron isotopes to trace the origin of boron in the Seine river and how the contribution of anthropogenic inputs changed over 20 years.
