About the speaker: Prof. Jianwen Zou holds a doctorate in Soil Science from Nanjing Agricultural University and a doctorate in Ecology from Rice University. He is currently Vice President of School of Resources and Environmental Sciences, Nanjing Agricultural University, China. Prof. Jianwen Zou is mainly engaged in the research of terrestrial surface carbon and nitrogen processes and global change. He has published more than 90 papers in Ecology Letters, Global Change Biology, Environmental Science & Technology, Journal of Ecology, Global Change Biology Bioenergy, and others.

About the speaker: Prof. Erik Hobbie obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Yale University in 1987, and obtained his master's degree and doctorate in Environmental Science from University of Virginia in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He is a research professor at the Earth Systems Research Center at the University of New Hampshire, USA and currently a visiting scholar at Kyoto University. Prof. Hobbie uses stable isotope natural abundances to understand carbon and nitrogen dynamics in forests, particularly the role of mycorrhizal fungi. He has published more than 60 papers, including five with his father. These papers have been cited more than 5000 times.

About the speaker: Prof. Xinhua He is a researcher in the department of plant biology/earth and environment at the University of Western Australia, Australia. He also is the foreign distinguished professor and the Director of the Center for Soil Biology of Southwest University, China. Prof. Xinhua He is mainly engaged in the physiological ecology of plant nitrogen and carbon, the interactions among soils, fungi, and plants, , the responses of soil fungi and bacteria, and the interactions of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium with environmental changes and their improvements to cultivated land conservation and land fertility. He has published more than 160 papers in Agr Sust Develop, Agri Ecosyst Environ, Agri For Meteorol, Biol Fert Soils, Biogeosciences, Glob Biogeochem Cy, Nature Commu, Nature Geosci, New Phytologist, Plant Soil, SBB, SSAJ, Trends Ecol & Evol, Trends Plant Sci, Tree Physiol, and others. These papers have been cited more than 3000 times.
