Dr. ZHU Mengqiang is a soil and environmental biogeochemist in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at the University of Wyoming. His research focuses on the fundamental aspects of geochemical and mineralogical processes that affect nutrient cycling and contaminant fate and transport in soils and sediments. He received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from North China Electric Power University in 2002, his Master’s degree in Environmental Chemistry from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005, and his PhD in Environmental Soil Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 2010. Then he conducted post-doctoral research in Environmental Geochemistry in the Earth Sciences Division (Energy Geosciences Division now) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory before he joined the university in 2013.
