About the speaker
Dr. M Bayani Cardenas is a professor at the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He is an internationally renowned hydrogeologist. He is interested in the fluid flow and solute transport in a variety of aquatic environments, particularly in the field of surface water and groundwater interactions, and their ecological and environmental effects. He is currently the co-editor of AGU Advances. He has served as the editor of the internationally authoritative journals related to hydrology, including Geophysical Research Letters (2013-2019), Water Resources Research (2010-2013). Moreover, he also served as associate editor for high-quality journals, including Reviews of Geophysics (2010-2014) and Hydrogeology Journal (2009-2012). He has presided over more than 20 projects, including those funded by the National Science Foundation of the United States. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers in top international journals, including Nature Geoscience, Science Advances, Nature Communications, Geophysical Research Letters, and Water Resources Research, etc. He has reviewed papers for more than 40 international journals including Nature, Science, PNAS, and Geology, and has given more than 90 invited academic presentations.
