Synopsis:
The frequency and/or severity extreme weather is increasing on a global scale, which lead a serious threaten to the earth ecosystem and human beings. Actually, all kinds of extreme weather events are being influenced by recent global change. Based on several extreme weather films, such as 《The day after tomorrow》, 《2012》, 《Interstellar》, and 《The Martian》, Prof. Wang will give a presentation on the impacts of extreme weather events on human survival and responses under recent climate change. Finally, I will give some personal opinions to our students on the benefits on learning earth system science.
