报告简介:According to the Global Burden of Disease project, there are 4.5 million deaths each year around the world associated with air pollution exposures.  This lecture will look at some of the methods used by the Global Burden of Disease Project, and the estimates of mortality for different parts of the world including China. The main cause of premature death is exposure to airborne particulate matter and the lecture will consider the chemical composition of airborne particulate matter, the possible differences between continents, and the consequences for human health.  The outcomes of work relating particle composition to health effects will be briefly reviewed. Finally, the trends in air quality with respect to toxic pollutants in China and Europe will be considered.
