我和我的莫老师

刚开学的时候有个新生见面会，我以为当天会是我和我的导师第一次相见，但遗憾我没有见到，心里的好奇更深了。徐延平老师和李思亮老师特别私下和我说明了我神秘的莫老师（Dr.Mostofa）的情况，未见其人先闻其名这算是初相识吧。
从李思亮老师那里我得知自己将会有一个外籍教授做导师，那一刻的心情大概就是惊讶+担忧+刺激+憧憬。惊讶在于我原有的知识圈从未有过外籍老师的出现；担忧在于接下来的相处将会是怎么样的处境，至少语言是个考验呦；刺激在于习惯了原来的舒适圈，研究生生涯的开启即将是以莫老师的出现为开端的一些挑战；当然了憧憬也是基于对这些挑战的乐观态度。在我的日记本里写着对于莫老师的一些憧憬期待的话“Dear Professor， Mostofa I wonder that what the scene will be, when we see each other. I would like to get a hug. After all it has been a long time I look forward to your coming”这段话每每读起来，当时的心情总能清晰的重现。真正相见时，所有的想象都具体化到了老师本人身上。
作为莫老师带的第一个研究生，两年半的相处时光里没少让老师给我操心，从研究内容的选择到科研计划的制定再到逐步的实施和校正，莫老师像是个引路者帮助我一步一步的实现目标。在蓟县的山野丛林，他告诉我土样采集的方式顺序和层次；在新疆戈壁滩的圆月之下傍晚而归，他教导我在土壤中蕴藏的秘密；在内蒙古草原之畔的沙漠湾里他潜移默化地传达给我他所知道的水土知识。如果说读万卷书不如行万里路的话，那么我的幸运之处在于野外采样的千百里路行程中有莫老师的引导，不仅仅是性格也是心智上的历练。从最初学识上的教导到一些长者的人生哲学的分享也正验证了那句话：要做学问先学做人。
从2015年地科院成立至今，各个课题小组从一人一师发展至今，我和我的莫老师只是各个课题小组的缩影之一，从开始的独在小楼备尝“创业”之维艰到16楼一层一层的完善；从内部的小范围学术交流再到国际性的学术会议以及科研组织的成立。地小科的每一点变化都从不同的主人公视角写进我们的回忆，这短短的五年是天津大学地学研究从“无”到有的过程，这五年也是历届地小科们一届更比一届强的进步的过程。
写在最后的话：
2020年4月10日是地科院成立5周年的纪念日，我想表示对地科院大家庭诚挚的祝愿：
祝地科院在未来的岁月里广育精英，争创一流，复北洋地科之大兴；

Institute of Surface-Earth System Science: Memorable Facts Since Its Foundation

A good news touched my soul about joining a newly founded Institute at Tianjin University as a Professor. I was excited when informed by Academician, Prof. Dr. Cong-Qiang Liu on August 10, 2014. Four months moved fast. I came to Tianjin for the first time on 8th December 2014 to complete the employment procedures. My office was temporarily set up at Room 204 in the Annex Building No.16. The next day, Benjamin and I met with staff at the Human Resources Office and visited Tianjin University History Museum. I was certainly impressed with the universi-ty’s glorious events and facts since its foundation in 1895 as the first university in China.
On 10 December, I signed my contract with the university. On the same day, a heavy fall of snow arrived in Tianjin .It was said this was the first snowfall in this winter. I took it as a great “welco-me” to me and enjoyed the wintry days.

My contract came into effect on 1 January 2015. After the New-Year Holiday, I received my univ-ersity ID number (146037) which is the first at ISESS, and my current email address that I am now using. Good news cannot stop sadness. At 11:20 am on 20th January I was told that my belo-ved mother was no more on this world. New job and passing away of my beloved mother remind-s me of nature’s give-and-take phenomena.
In fall 2015, I received my first MS student (L. L. Li) in my research career, who was followed by six more students until now. My research group was growing bigger and moved into the newly fu-rnished Building No. 16 in mid-August 2017. Things are getting better and better.
I am grateful that I could take part in the early construction of ISESS. I believe that greatness co-mes from great acts. It is with our joint efforts that ISESS could move toward its future as a worl-d-class research institute.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of ISESS, on this very special occasion, I would like to exten-d my warmest congratulations and best wishes to ISESS.
I have been with ISESS since its establishment in 2015 and have been witnessing its rapid develo-pment. Over the last 5 years, ISESS has been pooling more and more talents at home and abroad and has been levelling up its academic influence worldwide. ISESS endeavors to create the most favorable condition possible for scientific research which makes it an ideal platform for conducti-ng research and cooperation. It's also like a family where we care for each other. I am very honor-ed and lucky to be a part of it and I believe ISESS will still has a lot more to achieve in the future.
