Recently, the Tianjin Conference on High-Quality Development of Talents with the theme "Talents in Tianjin, Creating a Better Future with Intelligence" was held in Tianjin. Professor Robert M. Ellam, Chair Professor at the School of Earth System Science, Tianjin University and Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, was awarded the Tianjin Haihe Friendship Award for his outstanding contributions to leading research, talent cultivation and Tianjin's opening-up.
Established in 2006, the Tianjin Haihe Friendship Award is the highest honor awarded by Tianjin Municipal People's Government to foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to Tianjin's economic and social development. Taking this award as an opportunity, SESS will continue to expand international cooperation channels, deepen scientific and cultural exchanges, and serve the development of the university and the overall situation of Tianjin's opening-up.
