On the afternoon of April 9, a delegation from Tianjin Earthquake Administration, led by Party Secretary and Director Li Guanghui, visited SESS. Dean Academician Liu Congqiang met the delegation. Executive Associate Dean Li Siliang, Professor Liu Jing and other faculty representatives attended the meeting.
The two sides exchanged views on developing earthquake-related disciplines, optimizing research layouts, and serving major national and local needs, aiming to deepen university-local collaboration, advance earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and integrate earthquake research with talent cultivation.
They reached consensus on key technical issues of the Zhangjiakou-Bohai Fault Zone, including its structural features and active fault patterns, agreeing such research is critical to earthquake risk prevention in North China. Detailed discussions were held on cooperation in academic exchanges, research collaboration, platform co-construction and talent training, with a clear focus on leveraging complementary strengths and sharing resources.
Both parties noted this visit laid a solid foundation for future cooperation, and expressed that they would strengthen regular academic and work interactions, break down university-local barriers, share research resources, and expand cooperation in earthquake research, disaster reduction technology development, joint talent training and practice platform building.
