Bohai Rim National Station Convenes Annual Academic Committee Meeting

On April 16, the Tianjin Bohai Rim Coastal Area National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station for Earth Critical Zone (Bohai Rim National Station) hosted its annual Academic Committee meeting, gathering leading experts to review its development and map out future research priorities.

Wang Tiejun, Executive Deputy Director of the station, delivered a comprehensive report detailing the station’s annual construction progress, highlighting milestones achieved in infrastructure expansion, monitoring network optimization, and key research breakthroughs in the Earth critical zone. 

The subsequent academic discussion was steered by Academician Yu Guirui, Director of the Academic Committee, who fostered a rigorous and collaborative dialogue among attendees. Experts in attendance commended the station for its remarkable strides over the past year, particularly praising its innovative approaches to field observation and interdisciplinary research. They also provided targeted guidance, offering insights to enhance the station’s research framework, strengthen data sharing mechanisms, and align its work with national and global environmental science agendas.

This meeting not only underscored the station’s growing influence in Earth critical zone research but also laid a solid foundation for its continued development as a pivotal hub for scientific innovation and regional ecological governance.
