Postgraduate student supervision is a core academic responsibility, requiring expertise in both teaching and research. Quality supervision is key to the successful partnership between supervisor and candidate, leading to a successful outcome to the research project.
To help supervisors navigate the supervisiory journey, the school is to offer a training on 27th November. The training is delivered in two parts. The first part looks at the processes and policies with presentations and discussions from each support team to help gain the necessary understanding of the University and the school's process, ethics, research student lifecycle and the student wellbeing. The second part enables supervisors to reflect on good practice.

Know where to go for advice and guidance on superviory issues
Know the different administrative requirements of the role (enrollment, research supervision, thesis and oral dessertations, etc.)

Consider a range of approaches to supporting students through challenges they face.
