Yann Klinger, a professor of the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP), is a world leading figure in Tectonics and Earthquake Geology. Prof. Klinger has severd as the Director of the Tectonics and Mechanics of the Lithosphere at IPGP and a member of several expert advisory committees in France. Prof. Klinger works across multiple spatial scales, from small scale deformation in laboratory sandbox experiments, to meter scales in the field, to kilometers scale of fault zones.
He will give a talk entitled “Earthquake deformation: From ground rupture to fault structure”.
