Biography

Wang Zheng joined Tianjin University in November, 2018 and is currently a "Peiyang Scholar" professor in the Institute of Surface Earth System Science. He received his PhD degree on mercury isotope geochemistry from Trent University in Canada in 2010. He then did his post-doc research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory of USA and University of Toronto in Canada. Before coming to Tianjin University, he was a research scientist in the School of Earth and Space Exploration in Arizona State University.

His research focuses on metal stable isotope geochemistry, including the mechanism, application and environmental impacts of metal stable isotope fractionation, and the biogeochemical cycle of metals. He has published over 20 peer reviewed papers in journals such as PNAS, Nature Geosciences, Environmental Science and Technology, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, Global Biogeochemical Cycles and Journal of Analytical Atomic Spectrometry.
