Abstract:

Dust particles are a major fraction of atmospheric aerosols and have significant impacts on air quality, atmospheric chemistry, public health, biogeochemical cycle as well as the global climate. Dust particles are also an important carrier of airborne microbes. The interactions between dust particles and microbes cause much more uncertainties to assess the effects of dust particles. Based on case studies, the physical, chemical and microbiological (bacterial) characteristics of dust particles during some dust events were obtained. These fundamental data are helpful to deepen comprehensive understanding of dust particles and be favorable to more accurately evaluate the effects of dust particles.
